Computational tools
Computational Tools to support Energy Assessment and Fire safety In order to evaluate the effects of implementing phase change materials (PCMs) in different wall systems and building applications, several computational models have been developed within the frame of the MESSIB project. These models have been validated on a component/ passive material level and on a building level. Furthermore, a simulation tool for predicting fire growth/spread/decay in buildings has been introduced to allow evaluation of building performance under fire conditions when PCMs are incorporated in the building elements.
